MDT Innovations Wins the MSC Malaysia APICTA Prime Minister's "Best of the Best" Award

“MDT INNOVATIONS WINS THE MSC MALAYSIA APICTA PRIME MINISTER’S “BEST OF THE BEST” AWARD

KUALA LUMPUR, May 17, 2008: MDT Innovations, an MSC Malaysia Status-company, was awarded the MSC Malaysia APICTA 2007 Prime Minister’s “Best of the Best” Award for their product – MD770R RFID Reader Module.

Presentation of the award to MDT Innovations was made by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, at a ceremony following the 11th International Advisory Panel (IAP) meeting at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

MDT Innovations had also won three other categories, comprising of (1) Best of Communications, (2) Best of Security and (3) Best of Research & Development at MSC Malaysia APICTA 2007 for its RFID related applications.

Among those in attendance to present the award were Datuk Dr Maximus Johnity Ongkili, Minister Of Science, Technology and Innovation of Malaysia, Tan Sri Dato’ Ir. Muhammad Radzi Haji Mansor, Chairman of Telekom Malaysia, and Dato’ Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa, Group CEO of Telekom Malaysia. Telekom Malaysia is the main sponsor for MSC Malaysia APICTA 2007 for Prime Minister’s “Best of the Best” Award.

With the recognition, MDT Innovations walked away with a special trophy and certificate signed by the Prime Minister of Malaysia.

Since its establishment in 1999, MSC Malaysia APICTA has successfully celebrated more than 160 achievements of Winners. More than 80 of the winners are MSC Malaysia Status Companies.

The winners are sponsored to represent Malaysia at the international APICTA every year. The winners of this year’s Awards will represent Malaysia at the international APICTA 2008 in Jakarta, Indonesia this November.

APICTA sponsorship fund will be used to subsidise MSC Malaysia APICTA Winners to undergo Technopreneur Development Programmes and to assist them in market access programmes. In this view, sponsors are contributing to the development of the ICT industry in Malaysia particularly in the development of Malaysian technopreneurs and ICT SMEs.
